Princess of Wales
July 1, 1961 - August 31, 1997

1998

As we quickly come to the 1st Anniversary of the death of Princess Diana let us remember the impact that she had on our lives and the lives of many others while she was alive. Let us recommit ourselves to all of the resolutions that we made as a result of her death.

Over the past few months I have seen some crash photo's on sites - people who have forgotten their willingness to boycott the Paparazzi! How quickly we seem to forget the dead. Don't let her death be in vane my friend. Once again take a stand against this cheap type of literature.

Take a stand once again for the things that Diana stood for - let us stand together to give continued meaning to her passing. Thank you for continuing to remember Diana

123Greetings

1997

The tragic death of Princess Diana, has made the world stop and take a look at what we value; at what really is important in life. In our search to find answers, we have to ask questions.

Have we gone too far in our unquenchable thirst to know what is going on in the lives of those we give celebrity status to? Do we as a society, need to set guidelines and laws to protect them? God has given us laws and limits to protect us but we have ignored them. We have turned away from God's ways and it has led to destruction, and death.

Many believe that the death of Princess Diana has been a call to the Royal Family to change. I believe it is a call from God for all of us, to change. God's Word tells us that we will all face death. ~It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that to face judgement. Hebrews 9:27~ The Bible further tells us that we all fall short of God's glory. ~For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23~ There are no celebrities in God's eyes. God sees us and treats us all as equals, and He is calling us to return to His ways. ~Repent then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 3:19~

Nothing makes us stop and look at life like death. As you reflect on Diana's life and death, take some time to look at your own life. Ask yourself what your priorities are, what your values are. The greatest treasure in life is not wealth or jewels. Diana is dead, her wealth is passed to her sons; her jewels have been returned to the monarchy. We need to invest what time we have left, in that which is eternal.

Diana's work on earth is done. The best tribute that we could give her, is to invite Jesus into our lives and allow Him to fill our hearts with the same love that Diana so freely gave to others; the love that is described in 1 Corinthians 13. If we do this, the work which Diana has done with all her charities, will continue in each one of us.

1 Corinthians 13

If I had the gift of being able to speak
in other languages without learning them,
and could speak in every language there is
in all of heaven and earth, but didn't love others,
I would only be making a noise.

If I had the gift of prophecy
and knew all about what is going to happen
in the future, knew everything about everything,
but didn't love others, what good would it do?
Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could
speak to a mountain and make it move,
I would still be worth nothing at all
without love.

If I gave everything I have to poor people,
and if I were burned alive for preaching the
Gospel but didn't love others,
it would be of no value whatever.

LOVE IS very patient and kind,
never jealous or envious,
never boastful or proud,
never haughty or selfish or rude.
LOVE does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable or touchy.
It does not hold grudges and
will hardly even notice when
others do it wrong.

It is never glad about injustice,
but rejoices whenever
truth wins out.

If you LOVE someone you will be loyal to him
no matter what the cost.
You will always believe in him,
always expect the best of him,
and always stand your ground
in defending him.

All the special gifts and powers from God
will someday come to an end,
but love goes on forever.
Someday prophecy, and speaking in unknown languages,
and special knowledge - these gifts will disappear.

Now we know so little,
even with our special gifts,
and the preaching of those most gifted
is still so poor.

But when we have been made perfect and complete,
then the need for these inadequate special gifts
will come to an end, and
they will disappear.

It's like this: when I was a child
I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child does.
But when I became a man my thoughts grew far beyond
those of my childhood, and now I have put away
the childish things.

In the same way, we can see and understand
only a little about God now,
as if we were peering at his reflection
in a poor mirror;
but someday we are going to see him in his completeness,
face to face.
Now all that I know is hazy and blurred
but then I will see everything clearly,
just as clearly as God sees into my heart
right now.

There are three things that remain
- faith, hope, and love -
and the greatest of these is love.

Candle In The Wind ~ by Elton John

Goodbye England's rose;
may you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed yourself
where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
and the stars spell out your name.

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.

Loveliness we've lost;
these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try,
the truth brings us to tears;
all our words cannot express
the joy you brought us throught the year.

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.

Goodbye England's rose,
from a country lost without your soul,
who'll miss the wings of your comppassion
more than you'll ever know.

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind:
never fading with the sunset
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along England's greenest hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your legend ever will.
