Amazon.com, the world's largest online bookstore, has provided a means by which you can purchase books directly from my web site. Below you will find a list of books, some of my favorites and some recommended to me, that you can order simply by clicking on the title. This will take you to the page at Amazon.com featuring the book. From there you can order the book and have it sent directly to your home. All of the best sellers are 30% off, and most of the others have a similar discount that will make it cheaper (even including P&H) to buy here than at your local bookstore. I invite you to give it a try. I have been ordering books from Amazon.com for some time now, and I highly recommend them. Of course the first book featured in my bookstore will be the one I authored. Book 1

The Quiz of Enchantment
by Michael McDonald ($6.95)
This is the book I authored. It is a fun book of trivia about the state of New Mexico in question and answer form. The answers appear directly after the question which makes it easy to read alone, or you can challenge a friend or relative and not have to turn to the back of the book for the answers. I lived in New Mexico for twenty years, and fell in love with it. I hope this book imparts to you some of the love I have for the state. You can order it just by clicking on the title.

Conversations With God: book 1
by Neale Donald Walsch ($13.97)
Both Barbara and I (and other members of my family, as well as many of our friends) highly recommend this book, as well as Conversations With God: book 2 ($13.97).
Once you surpass the remarkable premise of a man conversing with God, you will find the most wonderful vision of what love God has for us. Please read this book even if you don't buy it here. It is wonderful.

Book 3

Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil
by John Berendt ($17.50..hardcover)
We loved this book. It is such an easy read, and full of the most outrageous (but real) characters you've ever come across. It's hard to put down. It makes you want to visit Savannah, Ga. as soon as possible.

Book 4

Simple Abundance: A Daybook Of Comfort And Joy
By Sarah Ban Breathmach ($14.70..hardcover)
Barbara is enjoying this book of essays written for women to uplift your spirit on a daily basis.

Book 5

Los Alamos
By Joseph Kanon ($6.00)
I am really enjoying this book. Of course it's set in New Mexico, so I'm biased, but don't take my word. John Ellis of the Boston Globe says: "Read this book...It's a love story inside a murder mystery inside perhaps the most significant story of the 20th century: The making of the atomic bomb." It's just a well written suspense novel.

Book 6

Writing Down The Bones: Freeing The Writer Within
By Natalie Goldberg ($8.00)
Natalie Goldberg, a columnist for the Writer's Digest magazine (and incidentally, lives in Taos, NM) has put together ultimate lessons that will make you put down her book, and run to your binder, typewriter, word processor or computer so you can begin writing. Each chapter inspires you to write something, anything. I highly recommend this book if you like to write.

Book 7

Black And Blue
By Anna Quindlen ($13.80...40%off)
This is Oprah's April 1998 selection for her book club. We have not read this, but have read other books recommended by Oprah, and find that they are always wonderful. Click on the book title to find out more about it. The 40% off is for a short time only, so if you like Oprah's selections, now is the time to buy it.
An interesting, and personal anecdote: One day, when I was working at the local Barnes and Noble bookstore, a man was buying a couple of books from me when he said, "You probably have my daughter's books here." I asked him who that might be, and he told me it was Anna Quindlen. Anna Quindlen is the Pulitzer Prize winning columnist for the New York Times, and author of two other books. No wonder Daddy was proud of his daughter, and wanted people to know who he was.
