Chiang Mai Thailand ' s second major city and its northen capital, Chiang Mai lies 761 kilometres North of Bangkok and can be reached by road, rail or by air. Flights from Bangkok's international airport take about one hour. Chiang Mai's Modern airport is well served by an efficient taxi service for the short drive into the city where there is and excellent choice of hotels and restaurants.

Chiang Mai is renowned for the beauty of its people, its rich culture heritage, and the scenic beauty of the surrounding country side, replete with a wealth of tourist attractions. It will also soon serve as host to the 18th SEA Games.

Sukhothai The first capital of Thailand, established in 1238, Sukhothai today, is a pleasantprovincial town 444 kilometres north of Bangkok. For the visitor, its main attractions are without doubt the ruins tobe viewed in the Sukhothai Historical Park and which serve as a telling reminder of its once pround past.

Ayutthaya This is Thailand's main historical site and with the nearby Bang Pa-In is a most worthwhile city to visit. Located some 72 kilometres north of Bangkok it served as tthe Thai capital for over four hundred years. Sadly what remains to be seen today is a shadow of its former glory. A day-trip from Bangkok is a popular way to take in both Ayutthya and the ornate gardens and the once glittering buildings of the Summer Palace at Bang Pa-In.

Pattaya A two hour drive from Bangkok and often referred to as Thailand's Riviera, this one-time fishing village is today determinedly reestablishing itself as a family resort. The infrastructures has been much improved with some excellect hotels and resort facilities including top rated golf coures and new tourist attractions. It still however, manages to live up to its unrivaled reputation as a fun city.

Cha-Am and Hua Hin These two almost adjacent resorts both offer a relaxing alternative to the bustle of Bangkok and the lively ambience of Pattaya. Hua Hin 's still active fishing port provides a fascinating background for dinning on some of the freshest seafood around. Hua Hin and Cha-Am also provide excellent bases from which to explore the many attractions in the surrounding area. There are excellent hotels in both resorts.

Koh Samui (Samui Island) This laid back holiday island lies in the Gulf of Thailand some 770 km from Bangkok. A regular daily flight from Bangkok by Bangkok Airways makes getting there fast and convenient. The third largest of Thailand's islands,Koh Samui now has several major resort hotels offering first class accommodation.

Phuket The best way to visit this now internationally famed island from Bangkok by air. As with Chiang Mai, there are regular flights from Bangkok, Once there, you're in another world of sparkling waters, blue skies and all the attractions this fabled island has to offer, many of which lie offshore in the Andaman sea. Hat Yai Thailand's southernmost major town, 954 km from Bangkok, Hat Yai is a busy commercial centre and is noted for the liveliness of its entertainment facilities. There are regular flights from Bangkok, and a good train service.
