Tail-gate Tours

Hop on the tail-gate and let me take you on a little tour of the area.......

along the way, we will stop so you can take a look around and perhaps stretch your legs a little. Grab your camera and hold on tight!

Palo Duro Canyon is our first stop. We call it our "Little Grand Canyon". You can spend quality time with the great outdoors but just watch where you step!

The Cadillac Ranch is a favorite of mine as it is so unusual. You gotta take a picture of this - otherwise nobody will believe you! An area tycoon buries all his old caddies with the back 3/4 of the car bodies stickin'outta the ground.

Holly Sugar - where those little packets of sweet stuff are put together for those of us who like sweetened iced tea. At harvest time the aroma fills the air and you better be careful or you'll get run over by a sugar-beet truck.

Beef 'N More Dog Food - where food for man's best friend is produced (this is a division of Hereford Bi-Products, locally referred to as the "Used Cow Dealer"). They have recently expanded their operations and even have a 'Pet Deli' in the mall where you can shop for you four legged friend.

The Big Texan Steak Ranch - where you can try your luck at eating the 72 oz. steak and if your belly doesn't pop first - it's FREE!!! (of course, you have a time limit and have to finish off "all the trimmings" too!). Other items on the menu include rattlesnake, calf-fries, buffalo burgers and of course turkey fries!

Pantex - one of the nation's nuclear facilities (I hope they really know what they are doing or one day I may glow in the dark).

Tex Randall - the areas 50+ ft. tall cowboy. He's quite a guy - just drive along Hwy. 60 and you can't miss him!

Midnight Rodeo - the place where most folks go to scoot their boots all year round. Brush up on your ''two-steppin" abilities and if your lucky, you might get your belt-buckle shined too!

Stop by again - I plan to have more stuff to show you next time.........
