Teens Enjoying Childhood?

Remembering back to my teen years, I can remember how rotten many of us were . REALLY!!! Many of us were canniviving, self-centered, full of pride and ignorance, and self righteous. Teens seemed to rule, people seemed to know it, was it in their thoughts much?

Well, I ended my teen years in 1990, and nothing prepared me for what I see today! Remember how I said that it seemed to be known that "Teens" seemed to rule. Well now it is all kids in general. If you are a child or young enough that you would have been somewhat of a child during this "Don't you dare cause emotional abuse on your child kick" that the government got themselves involved with. Then it seems you have the opportunity to unleash your angers and temper tantrums all across town, even to the point of destroying lives. And your reward? "Did you hurt yourself dear?" Maybe your fist hurts so much from punching that elderly man in the face, should we get some ice for that fist?" Oh yes babied these near adults and adults have become. They have realised how good they have it too.

I have been talking about my own town, though I am sure I could be talking about yours as well. We are a town of 12,000 people. But yet, women feel the lack of safety in their homes, the elderly are fearing walking down a sidewalk. What have we come to?

I blame in most the government, the parents, and next, the police. The government wants to be sure that NO child gets beaten up by their parents so they have been installing a "Don't spank you child rule upon us" They say there are THOUSANDS of ways that you can benefit the outcome of your child with out ever spanking them. Well I guess I have seen the benefits of that now. It looks as though some of these 5 year olds are in the midst of their teen rebellion! In fact I recall a 5 year old boy telling a 3 year old boy. "GET OUT OF MY FACE!" , because he didn't want to play with him. Pretty teen like words for such a little guy.

Will we ever reclaim parenthood and responsibility over our children, are they worth the extra effort to know what they are getting themselves involved with. Isn't it worth the price to let them know they they in fact can not rule the town? When will this ever end? I believe it will end when parents are not too scared to let their children know who's boss, and when the government does not control our roles as they do, although I have not allowed them to take my "boss/mother" role away. I also believe that when the police stop being scared of these children and start sticking up for the rights of the community, we will once agan have a much safer and happier community.

If you have any comments on how to create a peacful and loving commumity, please send ideas my way. Our community could really use all the advice we can get
