This cake is one that I really looked forward to making. I had seen it done before in the magazines, but no one ever asked me to make one.

Believe it or not, this cake was baked ahead of time, and frozen. Boy what a job we had getting this into the freezer. We thought that the freezer was going to be big enough, but it wasn't. I ended up coming back out (after I delievered it), and carefully pulling the wheels off the board to to be frozen separately. Then, when it was time for the party, I had to put the wheels back on the board with new icing on the boarders.
Lesson here -- always make sure that the freezer is big enough BEFORE you plan the cake if you are freezing it. Click here to go back to my home page
