Ok, so this one really belongs with the Jewish cakes, but I've run out of room there for now!

This cake was for a Bar Mitzva that was on Labor Day weekend. The invitation had acorns on it, so we went with that theme.

The letters are made of color-flows. The Jewish stars on the scrolls are royal icing, painted with gold dust. (There are 13 of them on the cake, to represent 13 years old.)

The two scrolls are made of jelly roll cakes, set on a cardboard. The bottom borders is a yellow/green "shell". The top border is leaves and acorns!

As you can see, this cake can be made in so many different ways. You can put a longer cake between the two jellyroll cakes, or you can place the open Torah ON a sheet cake.
