FULLTIME MOM

I've thought long and hard on what to do on this page. In fact, I'm still thinking! I wanted to add a few pages for, what I call Full time Mom's, AKA House Wives, At-Home-Mom, Happy Little Homemaker, etc. Being one myself I thought it would be easy, so far it's been anything but easy. I wanted a place to put encouragements (that's this page), poems, quotes and some helpful hints.

Before you get started, there is something you must know. I didn't come up with all the ideas here by myself... most were found in some very good books:

  • The Frazzled Mother's Guide to Inner Peace. Pate Baker
  • And Then I Had Kids Susan Alexander Yates
  • Mom, You're Incredible! Linda Weber
  • Parenting Isn't For Cowards Dr. James C. Dobson
  • Staying Home. Darcie Sanders & Martha M. Bullan
  • Mothering: The Complete Guide for Mothers of All Ages Dr. Grace Ketterman

From the very beginning, you play an invaluable role in your children's growth and development. You're neutering builds the foundation. It might not be instantly measurable, but don't dismiss your critical importance. The foundation you lay will be much more important than anything else you could ever produce or purchase for that child. (Weber) Your child is receiving a living inheritance from you. An Inheritance of acceptance, security, patience, and love. (Baker) An inheritance only you can give them.

As a new mom or a new full time mom at home, there are a few things that should be strongly stressed." Motherhood is not an enter-level service position for mindless, second-class citizens. It is the noblest of callings. To be entrusted with the very life, health, and well beings of a tiny human person is a great gift and an honor." (Weber). "Moms are essential to everything from their children's self-image to the social standings these children will one day shape. The success and well being of our children are almost totally dependent on our success as moms. Being a mom is the most strategic, pivotal role in any society." (Weber) But Don't get so wrapped up in being a mom that you forget about yourself, it is not an act of betrayal to take regular breaks from motherhood. (Baker)

In my reading and in my role as a mom, I have found that there are a few ground rules that should be set in concrete and followed.
