KATE, Texrose, Lady C, tooty, Dusty, vette
To those of you who missed our gathering, you missed a great time! Dallas will never be the same! Despite the non-stop rain and lack of Texas sunshine, we had the time of our lives, especially our lone male Vette who was in heaven surrounded by 5 beautiful babes hanging on his every word! He says it doesn't get much better than that! *LOL*
The party started Thursday when Dusty met Vette and drove to the airport to pick up Tooty and Lady C. They spent the night at Dusty's house getting to know her gracious family and chatting online together. Friday morning brought the arrival of Texrose and the party moved to a hotel between Ft. Worth and Dallas. Everyone went off on a shopping excursion. By evening, KATE had arrived and brought the number up to an even half dozen.
Friday night was a wild and crazy ride to downtown Dallas where we finally found the Hard Rock Cafe....with Texrose and half the crew following Vette and the other half down every street in Dallas.....twice! *LOL* But Vette got us there (Kate knew he would eventually!) and the lights of the city were awesome!
Saturday found us rolling our sorry butts out of bed around noon and lunching at Luby's! Lots of chatting at the hotel where we celebrated Vette's upcoming birthday with a very appropriate cake! (don't forget to check out THAT pic!)
The plan for Saturday night was honky tonking at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth! Woooooo-eeeeeee! Check out them BUBBAS! You know what they say about those guys with the itty-bitty belt buckles, don't ya? *LOL* Anyway, we got to listen to Leroy Parnell, gawk at all those Texas 2-steppers, ride a bull (okay, so it wasn't a REAL bull, but ask the ladies about the ride they got!), and cram ourselves into a photo booth like clowns into a Volkswagon! We laughed so hard our sides were aching! We made a midnight stop at Jack In The Box just as it looked like a rumble was about to start, so we beat feet! Dusty looking sharp as shit in her little white Mustang decided NOT to FOLLOW VETTE, NO MATTER WHAT HE DID, and took Kate on a tour of downtown Ft. Worth! Good thing Kate loves to see the city lights, cuz she got to look at them over and over as we circled the city, looking for the right road! Hey, Dusty MEANT to do that! *LOL*
Sunday morning found the party starting to break up as Vette, our life of the party, had to head for home. The ladies all headed for breakfast at IHOP and tooty FINALLY got her omelet, after several drive-bys and detours along the way! We all retired to Dusty's house for awhile again to sort thru the pics we had developed at the 1-hour photo. Of course we still had to take more! Think we have enough now to paper the walls in Maui! Texrose said her tearful goodbyes and we prepared to take Tooty off to the airport.
The party was down to 3 as Lady C and Kate spent Sunday night with Dusty. Monday morning meant another trip to the airport to send Lady C on her way. Kate and Dusty headed off to Grapevine Mills Mall for some last minute shopping and lunch at the Rainforest Cafe before the last trip to the airport to send Kate on her way home.
We had a blast, we laughed til we hurt and we bonded as a group. Our Dallas 1998 Maui Over 30 Chatroom Gathering will live in our memories forever! Hope you enjoy our pics as we share our adventure with you!
