Birds Nest

Place 1 or 2 sprigs of green, slightly snow glittered, pine into a shallow 2" bird nest. Add a white or gold 2" puff styro bird to back edge. Add 3-5 "pearl eggs" attached to top of sprigs. Add 3, 3" wire sprays of iridescent pearl & sequins to inside nest so they extend out and upward (bridal pearl loops or sprays on clear plastic thread work great). Attach a 1" bow with 2 1/2" tails to outside center of nest. Add a small amount of glue to loosely scallop tails along outside edge toward rear edge of basket.

Attach the following poem:

A Nest in the Christmas Tree

Birds are the messengers that bring God's love
Spreading his glory on the wings of the dove.

Having a bird's nest in your Christmas tree
Brings good fortune, new luck and all agree...

In finding the nest the tree has been blessed.

For an added effect print the poem off onto white certificate paper, "Fiskar" the edge, and lightly dust with fine glitter.

Place the nest in/on a branch of your Christmas tree to bring luck and good fortune.

This craft idea comes from Sandi in San Diego, CA who has found several references to a legend that having a birds nest in your tree brings good fortune! Thanks Sandi!
