Lonely Path

Today as I sit here all alone
Looking into the path I am about to take
Feeling so alone but this must be
A path that I must take alone

With so much love from you all
Yet still none can walk this with me
It's a path I am forced to take
One to change my life but not my heart

As I stand under the stars alone
I feel the cool breeze blowing my hair
I look up to the stars in peace
I name each star after each of you my friends

Taking a deep breathe as I walk alone
Wondering why it's me given such a lonely path
It's not one I wanted nor had hoped for
I have to wonder what my purpose in life is

Feeling sad and alone why must I be the one
Tears strolling down my face as I write
Of the lonely path I am about to walk
No one can take this kind of pain away

As I walk alone down this lonely path
Chilled and cold as I am now alone
It is now time for me to lay asleep
Fighting to keep myself awake so hard

Slowly I cannot hold my heavy eyes open
Closing they are forced to do now
I begin to pray as I enter this path
That you are waiting for me at the end of this path
