Parents Prayer




 Oh, God, make me a better parent.

Help me to understand my children
,
to listen patiently to what they have to say

and to answer all their questions kindly.

 
Keep me from interrupting them,

talking back to them and contradicting them.

Make me as courteous to them

as I would have them be to me.

 
Give me the courage to confess my sins

against my children and to ask of them forgiveness,

when I know that I have done them wrong.

 
May I not vainly hurt the feelings of my children.

Forbid that I should laugh at their mistakes or

resort to shame and ridicule as punishment.

 
Let me not tempt a child to lie and steal.

So guide me hour by hour that I may demonstrate

by all I say and do that honestly produces happiness.

Reduce, I pray, the meanness in me.

 


May I cease to nag:

and when I am out of sorts,

help me, O Lord, to hold my tongue.

 
Blind me to the little errors of my children

and help me to see the good things that they do.

Give me a ready word for honest praise.

 
Help to treat my children as those of their own age,

but let me not exact of them the judgments and conventions

 of adults.

Allow me not to rob them of the opportunity

 to wait upon themselves,

to think, to choose, and to make decisions.

 
Forbid that I should ever punish them 

for my self satisfaction.

May I grant them all of their wishes

 that are reasonable

and have the courage always to withhold 

a privilage that I know will do them harm.

in pink or blue

there's someone special
 
here waiting for you



Someone who'll look at your sweet face 

with a heart so full of joy 

it really doesn't matter 

whether you're a girl or boy 



Someone who'll hold you tenderly 

and be overcome with pride 

someone who'll cherish you alone 

with a love she'll never hide 




Someone to take you 

where you go

someone to say "yes"

when others say "no" 




Someone who's waited patiently 

to share your life with you
 
someone who'll love you endlessly

I do believe in miracles

but never thought I'd find 

such joy and oh such happiness 

the day God made you mine 




A perfect darling baby
 
a gift of true perfection 

I never could have done as well
 
if I'd made the selection





Each and every time I look at you 

I still cannot believe 

that such a little dream come true 

is a gift that I've received







I named you carefully 

the only name that would fit 

such a lovely gift from "Heaven" 

only "Angel" would befit




Each day that I can-I'll hold you tight
 
and watch you as you grow 

you'll always be my "Angel"

wonder (???) about stuff, 



Feel SCARED & sad ;o( & MAD & Happy,;o}



Call a friend and make them laugh.



  Give up worry & guilt & shame. 





 " Stay Innocent." 

say yes and no and the magic words

ask lots of questions,

 

Ride bicycles,

 draw and paint and color,



 
see things differently, 

fall down and get up again, 



Climb a hill, climb a mountain, 

Talk with animals, look at the sky,


 
trust the universe,


 
 STAY UP LATE,[ of course with permission from Mom and Dad!]

Climb trees, take naps,

do nothing, daydream,




Chase butterflys

Play hop scotch

Jump rope, 




Play with toys, 

play under the covers, 

  have pillow fights,
 
learn new stuff, 

get excited about

 "EVERYTHING" 


be a clown,




 listen to music, 

find out how things work,
 
 


Make up new rules,
 
tell stories, 

save the world,

 make friends,

   and do anything that brings more: 
 
happiness,


 celebration, relaxation, 

 communication, health, love, joy, 

  creativity, pleasure, abundance, 

  grace, self-esteem, courage, 

 balance, spontaneity, passion, peace, 

  beauty, and 

  life energy to all humans and beings of this planet.

 beaches, meadows, mountaintops, 

swimming pools,  forests, playgrounds, picnic areas, summer areas,
