BACK TO BED STEW
1 lb. meat chunks(beef,lamb or venison)
1 can diced tomatoes(preferably with
basil and garlic)
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato soup
1 small bag baby carrots
5 medium onions
6-8 potatoes
1 small bag frozen peas
1 pint mushrooms (sliced)
3 cloves garlic
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon each of salt,pepper,
thyme,and rosemary
2 tablespoons parsley
Put all together in a crock pot
and go back to bed for 5 hours! Stir and serve !

Cream of Mushroom Soup
2 sticks of butter
1 1/2 cup flour
2 cans Carnation evaporated milk
2 cans Campbell's Chicken Broth
2 lbs. mushrooms- sliced
1 medium onion
Salt and pepper to taste
Melt butter in large kettle. Stir in
flour to make a roux. Remove from
heat slowly add Carnation milk,
stirring constantly. Return to heat
and add chicken broth and onions
and mushrooms. Season to taste.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Variations: You can substitute 2 lbs.
of any kind of vegetable such as
broccoli,asparagus,zucchini or potato.
For broccoli you can add 2-3 cups of
shredded cheddar cheese for broccoli
cheese soup

Cabbage Potato Soup...
1 quart of water
l tablespoon salt
1 medium onion, chopped
3 medium potatoes,peeled and quartered
1/2 pound cabbage, shredded
1 tablespoon butter
In a large saucepan bring water, salt and
onion to a boil, add potatoes and cook
until tender. Run potatoes through a food
mill and return to water. Add cabbage and
butter. Bring to a boil. Simmer 10-15
minutes or until cabbage is tender.

CHILI
A 6 quart pot with lid.
Wooden spoon
Ground Chuck or Beef 5 lb.
4 Cans red kidney beans,
Size? about 5-6" tall and 3" dia.
Standard size
4 Cans pealed Tomatoes
Size? about 5-6" tall and 3" dia.
Standard size
1 Can tomato sauce 1
Standard size
Not the smallest
but not as large
as the the beans.
1 Large white Onion
1 Large Green Bell Peppers
Garlic 3 to 4 cloves (wedges)
2 cups Wine White
Large can Chili Powder
Jalapeno peppers Depends on you.

In your 6 quart pot put
1.) Kidney beans,Keep cans to one side
2.) Drain juice of all tomatoes into bean cans.
3.) Cut up skinless tomatoes in to medium or small chunks
4.) Rinse bean cans with tomato juice and put in pot
5.) If you need more liquid to rinse bean cans, use a little wine.
6.) Chop Jalapeno peppers and add to pot.
Put lid on pot and turn on low heat.
In a frying pan cook the beef. Drain all grease and add to pot.
Do not clean frying pan. Sauté' in this pan the following:
1.) Chopped onion
2.) Chopped green pepper
3.) Chopped garlic
Sauté' minimum time = onions turn transparent,
Maximum time = not caramelized.
Add to pot. 4.) De-glaze or rinse frying
pan with wine and add to pot.
5.) Add the whole can of chili powder.
6.) Add salt to taste.
Stir in all of this mixture with a wooden spoon.
Put on lid and simmer for 4-6 hours.
