**PLEASE READ: These treats should not be given on a regular basis. Like lollies and some treats are for humans, these treats such as mollasses and sugar can be bad for horses teeth when given in excess amounts. Please be careful when making these for your horse and DO NOT overfeed. On another note, be careful if making a large amount of treats as some horses may not like that particular treat.

Molasses Muffins

  • 7 cups Sweet Feed
  • 212oz Jars Dark Molasses
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2 1/2 cups of Flour


1) Mix the first 3 ingredients together and add flour.
2) Coat Muffin tins with vegetable oil
3) Press dough down into the tins
4) Bake at 180(c.) (350 f) for 20 min, or until dark brown

This will make about 96 muffins for your horse to enjoy!
 

Horsey Salad

  • 6 sliced apples
  • 8 sliced carrots
  • 2 cups oats
  • Molasses
  • 1 cup chaff, bran (or some sort of feed)


1) Put the carrots and apples in a bowl.
2) Have the Molasses and oats and feed in 2 separate bowls
3) Dip each slice of the carrot and apples into the molasses, and then into the oats and feed
4) Put on a plate and chill overnight
 

Molasses Celery Sticks

  • few sticks of Celery
  • 2 cups of molasses
  • 1 cup grated carrot

1) Clean celery sticks and cut into reasonably sized pieces
2) With a knife spread molasses over middle of each celery stick
3) sprinkle grated carrot over top and chill for few minutes
 

Bag Mix

  • few carrots
  • few celery sticks
  • few apples
  • Corn Syrup or Molasses
  • Oatmeal, bran or oats
  • Apple Cider mix (powder)


1) Cut first 3 ingredients into bite size pieces
2) Coat in Molasses or Corn Syrup
3) Put Apple Cider mix and Oatmeal, bran or oats in a bag and add carrots, celery and apples
4) Shake until well coated
5) Chill overnight
 

B-day Cake (1stAugust or your horse's real B'day)

  • Hay
  • grain
  • molasses
  • carrots, apples......etc


1) Put some hay into a tin, or shallow bucket.Squash it down so no hay is loose or about to fly away.
2) Pour molasses over hay thinly, not too thick though
3) Sprinkle Grain over the top
4) Decorate with carrots, apples.....etc.
5) Chill for few minutes
 

Sugar Cubes in Molasses

  • Sugar cubes
  • Molasses


1) coat sugar cubes in molasses
2) chill overnight
 

Hotdogs 4 Horses

  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 bread roll
  • Molasses
  • Oats


1) Place carrot in bread roll
2) Pour  Molasses over Carrot
3) Sprinkle oats over molasses
4) Feed to your horse/pony

Bubble 'n squeak

  • Popcorn
  • 3 Quartered carrots and apples
  • 3 halved bananas
  • molasses


1)Put popcorn, carrots, apples and bananas in feed bucket.
2)shake or mix.
3)coat in molasses
4) (take horse to the movies)
