sugested by Kolbe Academy , Core of Knowledge Series and Another Sort of Learning

I love to read so I tend to have a stock pile of books on a number of subjects that were some how of interest to me. Now that I have children I have stared a small collect of good lituratre for them. What follows are Books I or My children really enjoyed or books recomended by Kolbe Academy, Core of Knowledge Series and a book by Fr. James Schall called Another Sort of Learning.

Here are a few of my favorite easy readers for children.

Little Runner of The Longhouse By Betty Baker
The Flower of Sheba By Doris Orgel and Ellen Schecter
Tut's Mummy Lost...and Found By Judy Donnelly
The True Story Of Pocahontas by Lucille Recht Penner
Richard Scarry The Best Mistake Ever! and Other Stories

I've just started to learn about computer progamming. The program I am learning is MSWlogo. A good book to read about Logo is The Great Logo Adventure by Jim Muller. By the way Mswlogo is free but it also comes with the book.

Here are some great home school books and some to help with lesson planning.

Catholic Education Homeward Bound
What Your Kindergartner Needs To Know
What Your First Grader Needs To Know
Books To Build On

I have been very busy studing my husbands language since I found a rare treasure in my public library. It is a book called Hmong For Beginners. So needless to say we have elected to study Hmong fairy tales this week, 10-11-98. If fairy tales are of interest to you check your library for these titles: Jouanah a Hmong Cinderella. Folk Stories of the Hmong. Asian Folktales. Nine in one Grr! Grr!. The Hmong In America: We Sought Refuge Here. and Only A Toad. These have all been very enjoyable for the whole family. My husband who was sent of to boarding school at a young age has even heard some that he did not know.
