Nick contracted with the illustrious Tourouvranin Noel
Juchereau in 1646 to be his servant. The contract
stipulated his work was to start they day they boarded the
ship to Quebec and last for 3 year. He was provided free
passage, all meals and 66 pouds "Rournois" annually with an
initial advace of 15 pounds to be deducted from wages.
Tournois pounds were worth 25%more than regular pounds.
Nickolas settled at cap-de-la-Madeleine where he became
Captain of the militia in 1652. This was a position in the
Segneury, second tothe seigneur. He would also have
administrative duties carry out the orders of the Intendant
and serving as the agent of Governor.
