Our Labor Day '97 weekend climb of Harney Peak
in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Please wait for the pictures, they're worth it.

A view of our destination (in the upper right)
only 2.5 miles to go.

Sherry's Mom, Joe, and Tim facing our
objective.

A South Easterly view of the Black Hills,
and only a half mile to the top.

The old fire lookout tower at the
top of Harney Peak.

Joe out running around the base of the
lookout tower.

Joe and Tim exploring the rock
around the lookout tower.

All of us at the top resting.

The plaque that greets all the climers
at the lookout tower.

The day and night after the climb.

Our campsite was set back away
from the RV units,
(Joe got the little tent on the left).

Joe explains the concept of fire
to our good friend Mark.

I have no explaination for Sherry's or
Joe's actions, I just took took the picture.

Hey, if you have fire and friends you have
to roast marshmellows.
