Note from "B" 12/23/97

Mom-

Just an observation--
The bulk of the clutter problem here could be resolved
by opening mail daily, discarding all envelopes & junk
that you don't need & placing bills in a basket that you
must go through once a week (designate a day of the
week - - & never waiver from it - make it routine). Also,
immediately throw away catalogs you know you won't
use & go through the others & place them in their own
basket. Go through this basket once a week. Also, it
may seem an insignificant thing to do, but this 15
minutes a week will save you hassle, lost bills & clutter.
The peace of mind will do you good !
Love,
B

-- MORE ON ORGANIZATION --

To be organized, you must organize your

~~S-P-A-C-E~~

This advice is very simple.
If you follow these steps,
you will soon be on the way to saving time
and finding everthing you need
when you need it.

S

= SORT: Sort your mail into bills and catalogs.

P

= PURGE: Purge any mail you do not need.
Do not save catalogs for "a rainy day".
Save only the ones you intend to use.

A

= ASSESS and ASSIGN: Assess what your bill paying pattern is
and file bills according to the dates due.
Assign bills to a container and catalogs into another container
[Use decorative baskets and everything can be stored in the open
and your method of organization looks good].

C

= CONTAINERIZE: Follow through with your plans to put everything
into containers.

E

= EASE OF LIVING
AND MORE TIME TO DO FUN THINGS WITH YOUR FAMILY.

Note: We got busy when "B" was growing up. So busy that
we often wrote notes to each other to aid communication.
I encouraged this practice...now I am reaping what I have sewn.
I was a non-traditional college student and my daughter became
independent and self-reliant. I guess these are good traits to have.
I did ok.

Now, here is a very well-kept secret for a good many years. "B" actually took this blanket along to college. I took this picture in hopes that I could get someone to make another exactly like it and eventually convince "B" that "Cindy Blankie" had a twin. So far I have not had the replacement made. I never ask. Whether "Cindy" is still in existance continues to be "B"'s secret.

BREAKING NEWS -- FEBRUARY, 2002

While at a baby shower to honor the pending birth of a new family member, the subject of "blankies" was discussed. It was then that "B" admitted that "Cindy Blankie" does still exist.
