One thing you'll notice
when browsing through our site is I don't use 'to top', or 'back'
buttons.
When you get to the
bottom of a page, use keyboard commands if you're like me and
don't want to move to the mouse and go up to the 'BACK' button
on your browser. (command is Alt and the left arrow key). If
you wish to go to a page you've visited in this same visit,
the right arrow key works with ALT also.
The mapping is fairly
straight forward. Each of the titles in the left column matches
a section on the very front page of the entire site. So, you
should never get lost. I try, (can't always remember) to also
include the 'chapter' definition on top of the article subject
title as well. I realize chapter definitions are a bit vague
and may be misleading, but we're trying to work within my original
ideas. This may change as inspiration hits, but not overnight.
The site stands as a framework and as text and ideas are interwoven,
each section or chapter will open and evolve.
Anywhere you see underlined
and the mouseover indicates a 'grabbie hand', it means this
is a link. I see I've installed some mystery links, but normally,
they all should go where indicated.
I love my music and
often have RealAudio playing something cool while I surf. I
won't impose my music on you, unless there is something so
perfect for a page I just can't resist. So far I've
resisted. Ditto animation. I have a couple of little animated
gifs, but I like to read and these are distracting.
As of this writing,
the site is only two weeks old, so there are some glaring blank
spots. (Photos:) The llamas are always doing amazing things
and I am usually without a camera when it happens. Also, our
latest Oberhasli show girl (Flylo Farms Fiona) deserves a photo
of her gorgeous self up onsite as well. Look for those in the
near future. (As soon as the new computer is talking to the
scanner and the old computer I'll get some of my pictures up
and running.)
Someone told me that
a web site is dynamic, always evolving. I didn't get it. Now
I do. The moment I put up a page, I see things I want to improve
on.
Travel:
John is an avid canoeist
and here will eventually reside his canoe links, and things
that relate. He already has a few wild Texas Water Safari tales
to relate. (260 mile canoe race)... I'd love to regale you with
them but this is his story and it'll have to be his telling
.
We both are passionate
about Belize in Central America, have some great memories to
share, and they'll pop out here from time to time. You can look
forward to swimming with jaguars, crossing a flooding river
on a rope bridge in a Land Rover, driving the Mayan Mountains
guided by moonlight when the truck lights were out,, visiting
ancient Mayan ruins, STICK VIPERS, and much more.
The Travel chapter
also may be the best spot for some 'cerebral meanderings', such
as dreamscape, future travel, those lovely intangibles.
Kitchen:
Since we currently
live in a trailer house our kitchen is an afterthought. It doesn't
have the lovely pantry full of canned produce nor the walls
of spices I'd love to display. I have cooked in the restaurant
trade off and on, have cooked over a wood stove (which I loved),
have put up hundreds of gallons of produce in canning jars and
such. So, this is a section that will be receiving a great deal
of attention from time to time. After all, the kitchen work
is the final, glorious step in raising your own produce and
dairy and meat producing animals.
And the rest of the
index looks glaringly bare to me, so there is much room for
improvement.
