Inside a Man

Look inside yourself and see who you are
Feel the essence of worth locked there
Words describing my emotional self are hard to see
Not being a literary scholar makes it clouded in a cosmic stare
To tell of the love and precious moments I have experienced this year
Or try to explain away the hurt and torment of my past
Thus my mind and heart cry out as writers try to do
Expressing the sadness and the joy with mixed emotions

What shall become of this mature, sensitive being?
How can he evolve and nurture this newfound love?
He believes that life has begun for him again
This world blossoms like an Asian lily so white and delicate
Yet strong enough to survive the ills of fall weather

Though he is in the September of his life
The young man in love is showing his smiles and actions
The Inner man, be it old or young
Is alive and looking forward to life
