BROKEN DREAMS

As children bring their broken toys
with tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
because He was my Friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him
in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
with ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How can You be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "What could I do...
You never did let go."

Thank you Rhonda for this beautiful reflection
at a time I need it!

"I've learnt that what has happened to us effects the people we are today. Our parents shape and mould us to be this adult person. The children who have experienced pain at a great extent ...when they didn't know any diffrent, gain understanding. The children who have been forced to stay calm when their parents are out of control, gain patience. And the kids who have lived in an endless blackness gain a spark of hope. It's amazing what you can pick up by absorbing the content of someone's empty words."
Emma Carey

My Grown-Up Son

My hands were busy through the day
I didn't have much time to play
The little games you asked me to
I didn't have much time for you.
I'd wash your clothes, I'd sew and cook,
But when you'd bring your picture book
And ask me please to share your fun,
I'd say: "A little later, son."
I'd tuck you in all safe at night
And hear your prayers, turn out the light,
Then tiptoe softly to the door . . .
I wish I'd stayed a minute more.
For life is short, the years rush past
A little boy grows up so fast.
No longer is he at your side,
His precious secrets to confide.
The picture books are put away,
There are no longer games to play,
No good-night kiss, no prayers to hear .
That all belongs to yesteryear.
My hands, once busy, now are still.
The days are long and hard to fill.
I wish I could go back and do
The little things you asked me to.

Boy did I have a learning experience last night! I tried using the power of the internet and sent an email to a bunch of people at the same time. What a way to go until I kept getting something back from the post office reminding me how many typo's I make. I kept fixing them and sending them and fixing them and sending them. OOPS... Well, to cut a long night short, some people got the same message from me a lot of times. I understand the agrivation and was let know about it! A few replys were understandable but not so happy.... Most were a blessing to me so it was all worthwhile! Here are a few of the blessings I recieved from the struggle with my web tv!

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh a far more exceeding and external weight of glory: for we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Cor 4:17-18 From David & Dolores Crawford
