Laughing and dreaming, a youthful soul
That’s what I’ll remember until I grow old.
Your beautiful smile and shining eyes,
Forever in my heart, your memory lies.
Blessed with innocence and goodness of heart,
You left this world before you could start.
You were so kind, sometimes I ask how,
When I imagine where you are now.
I wonder if you’re safe and happy where you are.
Are you watching us from a distant star?
Are you free of pain with no need to cry?
Is that soft breeze your contented sigh?
Are you truly in a better place?
Are you now an angel’s face?
Do you watch over everyone here,
Those that love you and still hold you dear?
Sometimes I wonder if you were sold short,
From the life that you were made to deport.
Or were you the luckiest of us all
Chosen in time to answer the call.
To fill God’s heaven with youth and love,
And finish you life in a place above.
