I currently have a small dog and have adopted nine stray cats. All the kitties have adjusted well...i'm not sure about the dog though. The story of Rufus made me cry. I had a similar experience yea s ago, bidding farewell to the family dog that we had owned for 16 years. It's saying farewell to a cherrish family member that will never be forgotten and can never be replaced, but I have a different love for my new dog. She too is irreplacable.
