Your story fills me with hope. My son was diagnosed with infantile spasms when he was 5 months old. He is now 19 months and doing wonderful. He has physical and occupational therapy and is learning sign language. I long for the day when he brings home math problems and I don't have to worry anymore.

My granddaughter has infantile spasms. Hers is from brain damage from meningitis when she was 3 wks. old. The doctors say she might out grow them. She doesn't have them as often as she use to, maybe 3 or 4 a day now. She is truly our little miracle. My em il is Little Miracle Ranch for her.

HE WAS A PERFECTLY HEALTHY BABY AT BIRTH AND AT 8 DAYS OF AGE GOT SICK FROM A COLD SORE THAT HE HAD CONTACTED FROM SOMEONE WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL ON HIS FIRST OR SECOND DAY OF LIFE. THIS CAUSED HERPES ENCEP ALITIS IN HIS BRAIN. ALL SEEMED WELL ONCE THEY WERE ABLE TO STOP THE VIRUS FROM DOING ANY MORE DAMAGE. THEN JUST AFTER HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY PATRICK DEVELOPED INFANTILE SPASMS AND WAS PUT INTO CHILDRENS HOSPITAL IN BOSTON. HE RESPONDED WELL TO THE ACTH TH RAPY AND WAS SEIZURE FREE FOR 1 1/2 YEARS. SEIZURES THEN BEGAN ANEW AND WE HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH NEW MEDS/BLOOD LEVELS AND SEIZURES. WE ARE CURRENTLY CONTEMPLATING EITHER SURGERY OR THE KETOGENIC DIET.
