      I am sure there are many more paintings done of roses by the

      old masters, this is just a sampling. I am partial to dutch painters ,

      since I was raised in Netherland. There is a painting in our art gallery in

      the US that has a painting by Vandermeer who is from my hometown of

      Deventer.
