Shout To The Lord

The song playing is My Redeemer

This is the story of a man

that has changed the lives

of millions of people.

He only lived on this earth

for 33 years

but has continued to affect lives

down through the centuries.

The pictures used on these pages

are from a book

called "Life of Christ"

by Hamlyn Publications and

illustrated by Angus McBride.

Let's start with his lowly birth.

He was a King,

but he was born in a stable

He was royalty

but had a carpenter and

a young maiden for parents.

His name was Emmanuel

God With Us

His name Was Jesus

Our Redeemer

In a small town called Nazareth

there was a young maid named Mary.

One day an Angel appeared to Mary

and brought her a very strange

and wonderful message.

He told her she had found favour with God

and would have a son

that would be the Saviour of the world.

And you shall call him Jesus.

Mary was so overjoyed,

she magnified and worshiped God.

Joseph, her fiancee,

was told by God in a dream

that he was to marry her

because the child was from God.

Soon the time came

for her to deliver the child.

Since they were on journey to pay taxes

She gave birth to Jesus in a stable,

because there was no room in the inn.

The baby grew and became a young man.

At the age of 12, his parents

took him to Jerusalem for passover

There, he could be found,

teaching the teachers in the temple.

The years went by and

there arose a new voice in the land.

His name was John the Baptist.

He taught repentance from sin and

the coming of the Lord.

One day while he was preaching

Jesus came on the scene

and asked to be baptized.

As he went down into the water and came up

the Holy Spirit descended, like a dove

and came upon him.

The voice of God was heard saying

This is my beloved son,

in whom I am well pleased.

Then Jesus was driven into

the desert to fast and pray

There the devil came and tempted him.

But he sinned not!

After that Jesus started his ministry

He chose men to help him and

they traveled with him

Many miracles and and signs

and wonders were done by him.

But when he came to his own home town

he was rejected.
