In life, there will be many things you will learn. Some you will learn the hard way. Some will be happy, some will be sad. What is important, however, is the fact that you learn from your experiences in life. Here are some of the things I have learned...
I have learned that there are times when you are sad and upset about something, and sometimes the people you need most just aren't there for you. Then you learn they have problems too. That's when you get together and cry about everything together.
I have learned that guys will break your heart. This may or may not be all their fault. Sometimes, we like to think of it as their fault, but I have learned that you have to take responsibility for your own actions.
I have learned that I really don'tcare what the President does in the White House. I'm not old enough to vote, and I'm waaaaay to young to hear language like that. I have also learned not to trust people who tape any of your conversations.
I have learned that sometimes your friends will desert you. That's ok, because I have learned that there is always the Lord to turn to.
I have also learned that some people get offended when I mention "Bible", "Jesus", or "God". Sorry folks, but I don't get offended by your beliefs, please don't be offended by mine.
I have learned that the minorities often aren't the real minorities. The honest, hard working people you get up early every morning to go to make an honest living are the true minority.
I have learned that you can try your hardest without trying your best.
I have learned that sometimes, no matter how much time you worked on something, how much effort you put into it, and how thoughtful you are about it, some people still don’t appreciate the work you have done.
I have learned that your horse will decide he wants to act like a little juvenil delinquent for an entire trail ride (especially since you have been bragging to your fellow horsemen what a terrific gentleman your horse is) and then decide he wants to act like a perfect angel - when it's time to get on the trailer and go home.
I have also learned that if you do a thorough check of your horse trailer before you leave to go somewhere, your truck will break down.
I have learned that some people have no appreciation for the finer things in life.
I have learned that you must learn from other people’s mistakes. Life is too short to make them all yourself.
I have learned that some people have no faith. What a shame.
I have learned that the tongue is such a light object, but so few people are able to actually hold it.
I have learned that your long-awaited vacation will coincide with your horse’s mystery lameness.
I have learned that everyone has feelings. You just can’t go around being rude and mean to people. I learned that you must that 2 people can play, and what goes around comes around.
I have learned that you cannot judge people based on their looks, clothing, hairstyle, music preference, etc. Some of the treat others the way you would like to be treated. It’s a game nicest people come in very different forms. You must take the time to get to know someone before you can judge them.
I have learned that knowledge is a terrible thing to waste. Guys don’t really care for girls who act like they are stupid. Although, some of us really aren’t acting.
I have learned that sometimes people take things that do not belong to them in the first place. I have learned that this is very unfair to the honest people. And not very fun for the people that get caught.
I have learned that many adults misjudge teenagers. No, we do not all smoke, drink, do drugs, and live for sex. Like I said before, you can’t judge people before you get to know them.
I have learned that in the future, no one will care if I wore Tommy Hilfiger clothes or not, if I drove a Mustang GT or not, if I had a huge bank account or not. But someone may care, as long as I was important in their life, about me.
I have learned that some people have it coming to them. Whether or not it is my job to give it to them, they have it coming anyway.
I have learned that some people disagree with the things I believe in and the things I say. This causes these people to be awfully rude to me. I have learned to ignore these people. Don't put me down because we have different beliefs. I don't do that to you.
I have learned that the best first impression is a smile.
