John Peoples is listed as a private in Gilmore's Company of Virginia Militia, serving withMorgan's command in South Carolina. Brig. Gen. Morgan was appointed the command of 320 men (Maryland Line), a detachment of Virginia Militia of 200 men and Col. Washington's regiment of light horses. |
