Excerps from letter written July 7, 1990 by Oonagh M. Buchanan. "I am enclosing all the information that I have on Abigail McElroy and her connection to the Buchanan line. Abigail McElroy was my husband's gr gr grandmother. His gr grandfather Samuel David Buchanan was the son of Abigail McElroy and John Brown Buchanan son of Samuel II and (Elizabeth Duncan?) I have been working on these lines for the past 35 years and know of the controversy that has arisen from the David Buchanan vs John Brown theory. However just recently I was sent a copy of Abigail's (Gilly) suit against the Craigs, she is named as the widow of John Brown and her children all have the right names.
