Emperor Aptenodytes Forsteri

Largest of all the penguins. Emperors are only found on and around the Antarctic continent. An Emperor has tear-drop shaped, yellow, open ear patches.

Second largest of the penguins, Kings have orange ear patches that are closed.

Emperors take various antarctic fish as well as crustaceans such as krill etc.

Penguin at work

King penguins diet consists almost entirely of fish with only a very few squid and crustaceans being eaten.

Rockhopper Eudyptes Chrysocome

Rockhoppers are the smallest of the crested penguins. Their crests, have a thin yellow stripe that starts just behind the beak and runs toward the back of the head developing into a large drooping crest.
