Oh my godness! I cannot believe my baby is gonna be 1 year old next month!! This is going to be so sad! But Chase is cutier then EVER now! He is so fun, to hang out with! He definatly keeps me laughing all day long. What a character he is! He is very much into watching tv now. HE gets sooo into it! His favorites are Barney, Puzzle Place, & Seseme Street. On October 16, 1997 he was watching Puzzle Palce, and he started cracking up, like someone was tickling him....It made me crack up right along with him! Those are the times you wished you had your video camara handy! Too darn cute!! Chase also started to "really" be able to walk around without falling every half a second. He just cruises the house now! Which is so scary when he loses his balance!! He has a new bruise on his head daily...poor baby!

Chase has gotton sooo big this month. He has learned sooo much this month. He gets funnier & funnier, everyday! He is also getting such a personality! We are having so much fun! This month Chase took his 1st step on 9-15-97. We were so proud of him. But it is scary watching him walk! He also has learned to clap his hands. He can also shake his head "NO". He's such a cutie pie!

Well Chase has certainly grown up alot this month. Although he hasn't started to walk yet, but we are in no hurry for him to. I think he is getting really close though, becuase he is waking up alot now, and I am thinking it is because of a major milestone in the upcoming month! He doesn't go into his walker anymore, and hasn't for awhile...so we have retired it now! He now holds onto the chair, and walks with it in circles. He will take one step off of things now, and then fall.
Well Chase now has a total of 8 teeth! 4 on top, and 4 on bottom!
Chase says alot of things now, some words you wouldn't believe. He says Momma, Dadda, Dodda (our dog Doddie), kitty, drink, Ba-Bye, and he will say short, short sentences...but usually only Mommy & Daddy hear them.
Chase is eatting mostly grown-up food. He loves it all! For breakfast he usually eats fruit flavored oatmeal, or scrambled eggs & toast. For lunch he will get left over dinner or baby food, and for dinner he will have what we are having, or baby food. He loves apple juice!!! And of course still drinking his formula.
Chase is getting into everything now and I mean everything!!! He opens cabinets now, and pulls everything out! He loves to open drawers now, and pull out all my clothes. So i get to pick it all up, just so he can pull it out again! When he has something in his hands, I will take it out of his hand, and then go to take form the other hand, and he will pull his clenched fist back so I can't get it...I do anyways though!=) When he has something in his mouth, I will stick my fingers in there to get it out, and he will bite my finger! He's such a little booger!!!
Well on August 16th, 1997 Chase took his 1st plane ride! Of course he was a wondeful boy as usual, and slept most of the way! At the end of the flight he woke up and was playing through the seats with a young boy. He was really cute! Then when we arrived to Washington, he got to see his Grandma Janice, whom he hasn't seen since he was 2 weeks old! We had a nice visit, and I think Grandma got pretty attached to Chase. He liked her alot also, and I was glad they got to see each other! On the second day we were there, we went out on Grandma's boat, and it was really nice! Chase was so good!! Except he did get stung by a bee, on his forehead. He cried for a second, and was over it! we went out again ont he boat another day, and Chase went into the lake with Daddy. He had a life jacket on, and he loved the lake!!! It was colder then his bathes are, so I thought he would cry but he didn't he was laughing! He cried when I took him out! And of course Grandma spoiled him rotton!! He got a bunch of new clothes, and toys!!! Which we appreciated alot!!! On August 22, 1997 Chase's Grandpa Minor came and picked us up and we went to visit with him till we left on saturday the 23rd. We had a nice visit, and Chase got to see his Grandpa, since he hasn't got to see him since he was about 4 weeks old! So I am glad they got to visit also! I think Grandpa really liked the visit also, it is his first Grandson!

Wow has Chase grown up alot in just this month! He is now holding onto everything! He will let go and fall to the ground. He loves to stand, and his legs are really getting strong. So now that he is at this standing stage, he will get mad if you put him in his walker. Is he going to be happy when he can walk! Chase was so fussy as a little baby, when he could not do anything but just lay there, when he was able to roll around, then sit up, then crawl he was so happy. So when he can walk...I bet he'll be estatic, he probably will never want to be in his stroller when we go places.
Chase has been fussy for about a week now, although for the past 2 days he has been pretty good. He is now getting his 2 top teeth, his poor little gums are sooooo red and swollen, and you can see those little teeth just about to pop through. That will make 5 whole teeth in his little mouth. He's gonna look pretty cute with those top teeth!!
Chase's eatting habits are changing, he still likes to eat but now he really like to spit his food & juice all over the place. He's really cute, but it is messy. I have been trying to give him his own spoon, and he is pretty good about getting the food into his mouth. He is drinking out of sippie cups very good, which he has been since about 5 months. His new favorite snack is dog & cat food. He will crawl over to the bowls, and before I can get to him he has it in his mouth. I swear after I get it all out of his mouth, he always has one hidden in his hand somewhere, and manages to pop it in his mouth. He also LOVES to splash in the dog & cat water, he must think it is a little bath, then he will suck all the water off when I pick him up and move him. Thank god I keep their water clean!
Chase also has a new game he plays. He likes to get his toys, and crawl to the bathroom, pull himself up to the bathtub, and throw his toys in there. Then he tries to grab them, and you see both of his little feet leaving the ground. It is to funny! But...he is a pretty smart little boy, and darn cute too!
Chase has gotten to the point now, to where he is somewhat shy/scared/interested in strangers. Some people he really will like, and others he just will cry and reach out for his Mommy or Daddy. Of course I feel good, that he loves me so. When his Grandpa came down from Washington State, Chase just loved him! I was glad he didn't cry.
Chase gets to visit his Grandma in Washington State this coming August 16th. Which means he will be taking his first plane ride! i hope he is good for that. what am I saying he will be held for 2 hours.....no problem!! He hasn't seen his Grandma since he was about 2 weeks old, so it'll be exciting for both him and Grandma to see each other again.
Chase's first 4th of July, was not so good at the end. The begining of the day we went to his Great-Aunts house, we had a BBQ, and I fed Chase baked beans, and potato salad. He just kept eatting them, so I kept giving them to him. He went swimming, with his Daddy, and cousins Kayla and Sandey. He really loved it, probably because he didn't go into the cold pool, but into the jacuzzi...that was heated up to were it was like a warm bath. Later that day I had to work so, Chase & Daddy went home, and I was off to work. I got off of work about 8:30, and there was Chase, Chuck, Grandma & Grandpa, and Auntie Sarah. We went to pick up some food, in the same center as my work, and eat while we waited for the firework show to start. Well about to eat, and Chase is getting fussy. I hold him, and he threw up all over me, and him! So we cleaned up in the bathroom, and we actually stayed to watch the fireworks. So his first fourth didn't end to great, poor baby!
Chase has started a new thing this week (7-28-97), he now gives kisses, he doesn't know exactly that they are kisses, but he does give them...well it is more him sucking your face, but it is still sweet...no matter how much slobber you have on your face, afterwards!!

So far this month, Chase has finally gotten crawling mastered. his little arms and legs finally decided to start to move together.
Chase is learning how to make new noises with his mouth daily!! He really gets a kick out of taking a bite of his baby food, and then spitting it out, and it then oozes down his chin. He just crackes up, and starts to kick his feet with excitment. He thinks he's pretty darn funny! I cannot help but join in laughing...Which makes it even worse, because he then does it again to make me laugh.
Chase's obsession with paper is also growing daily. I swear he would prefer a piece of paper to the most colorful noisiest toy any day!! So I will give him a thick piece of paper to crumble up, and boy does he get mad when I have to take it away, because it gets to soggy.
Chase is also a great little eater! It makes it so easy & a pleasure to feed him. He loves his veggies, and fruit. He's not quite fond of peas though, but he loves his sweet potatoes. He loves applesauce & freshly smashed banana's. He didn't like the peaches or apricots to much. I think they were a bit to tangy for him. Boy did he ever shake from head to toe, when he took a bite of those!!
Since Chase has been crawling, boy does he get into everything!! His personal favorite is crawling to the dog food, and dumping it all over the floor. I swear kids have a radar that points them to things that they are not to get into, it then makes them have no control and they have to crawl over there and get into it. I say no, but Chase seems not to hear that. He is deaf to the word...NO!!
Chase is also not sleeping through the night yet....UGH!!! He'll wake up at least once. All he wants is his bottle, but I hate to give him a bottle at night since he has teeth. I don't want them to get cavities or worse be pulled. I know he is not hungry...because he will take water. But he will cry until you place that bottle in his mouth.

Chase has now started to use Mommy, Daddy, and everything else as a jungle gym! He pulls up on everything. At first he would get stuck on his knees, then he would fuss because he wouldn't know how to get back down to floor...without falling! Poor baby!
Chase is also getting another tooth! No it's not on top, but on the bottom. He's got both bottom teeth & now the tooth just left of his bottom teeth (lateral incisor). He's gonna look pretty funny with 3 teeth on the bottom! Hopefully the other one on the right comes in soon!
Chase is just getting so big. He now calls to me in the morning..."Ma..Ma..Ma..Ma!" (I swear he knows it's my name now.) Then when my eyes open, he gets a huge smile on his face. Makes you feel pretty special to have someone be sooo happy to see you! He's really a sweetheart! I just love him so much...
