Autumn Angel

Upon the night your Autumn Melody was born,

If you'd listened closely you'd have heard Gabriele's horn.

Heaven's gate opened a tiny bit.

Just enough for a small angel to fit.

As you two held your child in your arms,

and glowed so proudly over her earthly charms.

God looked down on what he was seeing.

Too perfect, this one, for mere mortal being.

Not too often do we get such a chance,

to give the Heavens the slightest glance.

This gift from God was only on loan,

one of His angels was missing, and He called her home.

So pray to Him for strength from Above.

He'll answer your prayers and bestow His love.

And as time goes by and you both get older.

Remember, Autumn Angel, is forever on your shoulder.

Our hearts are heavy on this day.

God has taken our baby away.

She has gone to live with all the rest.

The ones we still miss and loved the best.

Mama Lou, Grandpa John, and Aunt Sandra too.

Will be the ones to care for you.

Your time with us was too brief.

We'll remember this day with tears and grief.

So smile down on us from above.

As we release you to God with love.

Now we lay you down to sleep.

And give the Lord your soul to keep.
