The Meadow

As I look out at the meadow
Peaceful and calm,
I'm taken away
as memories flood my mind.
A place in time
not long ago,
moon light glistening
on the soft fallen snow.
A warm feeling bathes my soul
as I remember...

Hot chocolate, a cozy fire
conversations and laughter
between you and I.
Sharing the everyday things in our lives
Strengthening the bond of friendship
Cementing you forever in my heart.

The evenings passed so quickly
Hours felt like a mere moment of time.
What's that? A bird chirping...?
I'm back in the meadow
So far away from that moment in time...
