~Dad~
This page is dedicated to my father Edward Hammond Kruemmer
who was a teacher at the Texas School for the Deaf school for over 30 years.
He was one of the most beloved teachers at the school.
Daddy was the kindest, gentlest, most patient man I have ever known.
Cancer took him from us in January 1998.
He will be ever loved, ever remembered.

My Father's Hands
If you were to see my father as he worked each day,
you might not take a second look or even glance his way.
But when I remember him and all he means to me,
I close my eyes and Daddy's hands are what I see.
As a child, I learned to trust when he would lift me high.
For in the safety of his hands...I'd almost touch the sky.
As my own hands were growing, I would hold his up to mine.
I'd ask him, "When will my hands grow?"
He'd say, "Just give them time."
Whether used for chastening or brushing back my tears,
I knew his hands were guiding me all through the years.
His hands were symbols of his strength, yet gentle all the while.
The loving warmth of my Daddy's hands
would always make me smile.
My father knew that his own hands were instruments of love,
and so I learned to trust the hands of God, my Father up above.
Since his hands have blessed me with such precious memories,
now I can place him in God's hands
for all eternity.

A father is neither an anchor to hold us back
Nor a sail to take us there
But a guiding light
whose love show us the way.
~~~
A dad is a person that is there.
A dad is a person that cares.
A dad is a person that is needed.
A dad is a person that shares.
Love your dad...for he may never be forgotten
and may never truly be there.
Anyone can be a dad
but it takes a man
to be a father.
Anyone can be a father
but it takes someone special
to be a daddy.
Becoming a father is easy enough, but being one can be rough.
By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right...
he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong !
~~~
DAD: someone who hopes his son will turn out
just like him, and who is afraid his
daughters will meet someone who did.
~~~
Dad...because you are my father....it's been easy to believe in God.
Dad's Dream: to have enough money someday
to live the kind of life my wife and kid's do.
~~~
Dad dreams; he plans; he struggles that we might have the best.
His sacrifice is quiet; his life is love expressed.

Daddy
I have a story.
A story of a man.
This man is my hero.
He does the best he can.
Most people don't see the hero he is,
the pain he has been through,
the sorrow he has seen.
He behaves the way he does,
because he sees the things he sees,
and has this burden on him.
God help my hero please.
You have given him this burden.
You've given him a task,
to test his inner strength.
But still Lord I have to ask.
Why do you test me too?
I found my inner strength,
I found it by myself ,
my inner strength is you !
I need him for happiness,
I need him to live,
I need him through sadness,
that I can't forgive.
(This poem was written by Susan-Jean Workman whose father had Parkinson's Disease.
She said her father was her hero and she wrote this poem when she was fifteen years old.)

Hell as no fury like a dad whose tolls are mixed up !
~~~
I met this guy,
he talked like my dad,
walked like my dad,
and dressed like my dad.
Then I took him to meet my mom
and she said she hated him !
~~~
I'm just as lucky as I can be for the world's best Dad belongs to me.
My fingers may be small...but I can still wrap my Daddy around them !!

One of the best legacies a father can leave his children
is to love their mother.

The greatest gift I ever had
came from God...
I call him Dad !

The only man ... a girl can trust...is her DADDY!

The most important thing a father can do
for his children,
is to love their mother.

The only man a girl can trust is her Daddy !!

There is only room in a girl's life for her daddy,
because he will listen to what you have to say
and fully understand.

To be in your children's memories tomorrow...
You have to be in their lives today.

We live so far but yet so close...
Every other weekend I pack my bags...
to get ready to go to my Dad's.
I moved out about a year ago...
That doesn't mean I don't love my Father...
Any less than I did before or ever will.
Sometimes I fell so angry...
and to be honest...
Daddy's the only one who can me happy.
If I had one wish...
It would be....
to have my Dad for eternity.
Nothing more...
Nothing less...
Just that Dad that I could impress.
