(On September 25, 1994, Mark & his Dogpak were
involved in a very serious vehicle accident in a remote area of Alaska.
Amy joined the Dogpak as a direct result of this horrid accident. The story
of that fateful day can be found on the link listed below under "Bud's
Story")
Of all the harm done to me in the accident, the most
devastating injury of all was the loss of Bud. My daughter was well aware
of how much I was suffering by his loss, so she took it upon herself to
locate another Silky for my pack.
She contacted Sandra
Sharpe, owner of Woodlynnd's Kennels, Wilmington, OH, who agreed to ship
one of her puppies up to me. I met the plane in Anchorage that was carrying
my new Silky pup. As soon as I took her out of the airline kennel, I was
hit by a feeling she was "mon ami", thus the name Amy.
She was SO pretty and she charmed the socks off me from the start! She
is the best medicine I've received for healing my injuries. She gives me
the strength to face the challenges of my recovery.
I admit it, I am addicted to the wonder dog called Silky Terrier.
Thank God for Silky Terriers!
