Memories of Casey shared by her Mom

My daughter Casey, a chosen child, a special child, a very much loved child, she was that and more. I could never put in writing what she meant to our family.

She was the youngest of 6 children. There was 10 years between her and the next youngest. She was always the center of the family since the day she made her grand entrance. And she knew she could manipulate any of us with those big eyes of hers. However, she did not abuse the soft spot we all held for her. She did not have one mother, she had five, and one was always there to grant her every whim. Her father adored her and granted her every wish within his power. She had a big brother to lean on if all else failed.

Despite her position in the family, she was not a self-centered child. She was warm and caring, sensitive to others feelings, and usually well mannered. She was a typical young teen with hopes, plans and dreams.

On May 8,1998 she went to the prom. As she was coming home a drunk driver was on his way also. He took away our precious Casey, and he walked away without a scratch.

She will never experience an adult life. She will always be 16. We miss her terribly, but we have to go on, for her. I know that is what she would have wanted. She was a member of S.A.D.D. but now she cannot speak, we will for her and hope it prevents other families from going through this pain they call grief--I call it emptiness.

We love you Casey
