THE ARMOR OF THE LORD

How do I get through my days with a smile?
Sit down and I'll tell you if you have a while.
I put on the Armor of God everyday
He tells me this helps keep the devil at bay.
I'm told that the forces I fight are not men
But the evil on earth is that of demons.
With HIS belt of Truth buckled 'round my waist
And the Breastplate of Righteousness firmly in place,
My feet planted firmly with HIS Gospel News,
I go out each day and I tell all HIS Truths.
In addition, I take up the Shield of my Faith
To ward off the evil satan fires in my face.
I put on the Helmet, I take up my Sword,
Salvation, I shout, is a gift from the Lord!!
A battle is raging - I fight everyday
I couldn't get through it if I didn't pray.
The Armor I wear keeps me safe from all harm
If I don't put it on, then I should be alarmed!
God showed me this plan thru HIS Bible, 'tis true
HE gave all these truths for me and for you.
The day will soon come when by God's loving grace
I'll enter my rest and look up at HIS face.
My prayer for that day when I look upon HIM
Is that He'll be proud of the Soldier I've been!!
