The USGenWeb Project & FLGenWeb Project are a non-commercial, all-volunteer organization and are NOT connected in any way with USGenWeb, Inc., a for-profit Idaho corporation

In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.

At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page. This is an outgrowth of that original Kentucky project.

Florida's first constitution

The drafting and signing of Florida's first constitution. Delegates from all the counties of Territorial Florida assembled in a constitutional convention held in the City of St. Joseph, December 3, 1838. The delegates labored diligently for thirty-four days to draft the constitution that was signed on January 11, 1839. The St. Joseph constitution became the organic law of Florida when she was admitted to the Union on March 3, 1845, as the twenty-seventh state. Among the delegates were men destined to influence the history of Florida for the succeeding three decades. For more history on Gulf County, click Below
