EAGLE APPLICATION PROCESS

Eagle Packet Process Simplified

Recently the Council Advancement Committee (made up of volunteers from each district) met to simplify the Eagle Application process and make the process more "customer friendly".

Beginning immediately [June 98], the process imporvements will be:

  • Blank advancement packets can be picked up from either your district Eagle Review coordinator (allow time for short required orientation), or the Council Service Center. For many this will save time not having to drive to the Council Service Center. If picking up from Service Center Scout MUST call Eagle Review Coordinator for a short orientation before proceeding with application process.
  • The paperwork in the packet has been updated so that it continues to follow national policies and procedures.
  • Eagle candidate letters of reference will now go directly to the district Eagle Review coordinator, thus saving the extra step of going from the unit to the board.
  • Completed Eagle packets may be dropped off at the Council Service Center during business hours, and a receipt will be issued.[AS OF 2/8/99 THEY WERE NO LONGER ISSUING RECEIPTS.] There will be no need to make an appointment, and they will be checked within three days. Any defects in the application will be reported to the Life Scout, unit leader, and unit committee chair for correction, or other appropriate action.

We look forward to these changes, knowing that they will make the process smoother and reduce unnecessary travel and loss of time.
