EAGLE REUNION December 2, 1999 Site: Hilton Hotel, San Francisco Cost: FREE Keynote speaker: Robert Gates, former Dir of CIA and Chairman of NESA.
I should also note that although I have heard there were some protesters I didn't see any of them. Joe and I went in through one of the less used entrances and didn't encounter any problems, other than they wanted invitations from us (and we had been previously told we wouldn't need them). But this was quickly solved when we took off our jackets to reveal our uniforms. I still don't quite understand why hardly anybody came in uniform, I don't think any leader with a uniform should replace it with suit and tie at any scouting event. But anyway... There were Eagles of all ages present, the oldest having recieved his Eagle in 1927 (65 years before me). Everybody I talked to about it said they enjoyed it, and I think it's safe to say that most of us who went this time would be glad to go again!
