    ______
The East Bay Regional Park District has announced that the Mission Peak Regional Preserve has been closed indefinitely. The heavy rains of El Nino have caused a massive slide, 600 feet wide and a mile long on the west side of the peak that is threatening homes below. Rim of the Bay hikes to Mission Peak must now wait until the Park District feels it is safe to reopen. Contact the EBRPD for additional information.
