IN THE SPIRIT OF SCOUTING
A group of boys from Russia will be visiting our area (again) this summer. They belong to a group much like Boy Scouts, called Club Podvig.
They will be arriving late at night on August 15 and leave early on August 18. The boys will have patches and other things to trade. They are very polite and enjoyable.
They need places to stay (sleeping bags on the floor are fine), and will need to eat breakfast with their host families.
There will probably be a total of about 30 people (26 boys and 4 adults) in the group. About half of them speak english, some better than our own boys.
They want to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, a U.S. Marine Base, Alcatraz Island, Downtown San Francisco, the Scout Shop, FAO Schwartz Toy Store and China Town, the BART Headquarters & BART Central, and additional points to be determined,including McDonald's.
