TRES RANCHOS DISTRICT
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chairman, [open]

This committee needs a chairman.

This years membership goal was 2,583 boys for the Tres Ranchos District.
We currently have 2,226 boys within the district registered in scouting.
Our current goal is to have an additional 357 boys registered prior to January 1, 1998

Our goal for the number of units in the district has almost been met. We need to organize 3 additional units by the end of the year.
Any organization interested in sponsoring a scouting unit should contact Dave Wagner.

Tres Rancheros will be holding an area wide recruitment in December. Watch for details.

This years push is to get a Tiger Cub Den in every pack. The District needs a Tiger Cub Coordinator.

35,562 Youth Benefit from Scouting in SFBAC

The 1997 Wild West Fall Membership Campaign Concluded on December 31st with a resounding victory. The San Francisco Bay Area Concil continues to reach new heights as more youth than ever are participating in and benefiting from our Scouting Programs. A few of the highlights:

10,565 Cub Scouts were registered in the SFBAC in 1997. An increase of over 200 boys.

5,732 Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts participated in the Scouting Program. An increase of almost 300 young men.

4,819 Explorers and Sea Scouts in 1997, an all time high! Up by over 250 young men and women.

14,446 Students were involved in the Council's Learning for Life Program to pass on the values of Scouting through the classroom. An Increase of almost 1,000 students.

In all, the SFBAC grew by over 6% in 1997. This could not have been accomplished except through the dedication of countless volunteers who know the impact that Scouting can have on the life of a young person.

Those Leaders who have increased the size of the Unit compred to 1996, and those youth that have recruited another youth into Scouting are eligible for the limited edition patch. Requests for patches should be made to Dave Wagner, our District Executive.

Again, thanks to all those volunteers who helped recruit new youth, developed program for youth, and ensured that all our programs are quality. And to all those new Scouting families. Welcome.
