If It Should Be
If it be I grow frail and weak,
And pain should wake me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle can’t be won.
You will be sad, I’ll understand,
Don’t let grief then stay your hand,
For this day more than the rest,
Your love and friendship stand the test.
We’ve had so many happy years,
What is to come will hold no fears,
You’ll not want me to suffer, so,
When the time comes, please let me go.
I know in time, you too will see,
It is a kindness you do to me,
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering, I’ve been saved.
Do not grieve that it should be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do
We’ve been so close, we two, these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.

I have always had dogs- some self adopted and some aquired as pets.
Once when I was begging for yet another dog, my Granny said:" OK, but it must be the size of a cat!"

Click here and see what I came up with.
The next dog I got was a Yorkie. We named him Xievieus ( Zee Vee us) Preston Higgens, ZV for short. He has been an absolute joy! He loves people, a little too much I think, and is always anxiouse to please
I taught him "Bang"; you point your index finger at him and say "Bang" and he flops down and over on his side, then leaps up for his treat. He also does "Stand", where he stands on his hind feet a few seconds.
But, the most amazing thing he does he started recently. He was 11 on December 1, and he taught himself hide-and seek. He hides a treat bone he has had stashed heavon knows where, then sits near the hidden bone and gives one bark. That is my signal to come to the room where he is waiting and I find the bone, behind a chair, in a corner or tucked behind a window drape. I then give him back the bone and return to whatever I was doing and he will hide the bone in a different spot. This will go on for quite a while. There is also some rules, apparently, because if anyone walks past when he is hiding the bone he will give them a discusted look and pick up the bone and find another place to hide it.
Last Christmas he used the Christmas tree, skirt and packages as hiding spots. He sure is going to miss it when I take it down. And my kids tease me that he is dumb, HA!

Hey,everybody, look what my mom got for Christmas from Jamie & Barb! No more walking forever, when I get tired I can ride in my pup pouch.
Now that ZV is getting on in years I wonder what I can get to replace him some sad, sad day. I love Yorkies, they are non-alergenic, non-shedding, love people and cute as the dickens. Their only downfall is that they don't like warm weather and in 3 years,26months (aproximately) we are retiring and moving to Florida.
What I am asking my webfriends is ...
If anyone has
experience with small, non-shedding, people orientated dogs, please let me know what breed you have found to be like this.

My daughter and her husband got a big dog
Clyde, but there has been a problem, get out your box of tissues and read his story.Click here to read a story about him

Read about how to "buck the system" to get someone lonely a pet.
Everyone needs to get a dog that suits them and their life style. A pet is to enjoy, and to that goal everyone MUST consider several things before they get a pet.I wish people would realize that animals are totally dependent, helpless, like children; a trust that is put upon usJames Herriot
- If you are getting a pet "for the kids" STOP!! One adult in the house must be a animal lover!!! Because there isn't a kid in the world that will assume total responcibility for a pet, and someone must be sure the pet is fed and goes to the vet on a regular schedule get regular exercise and is properly groomed.
- If you think that by neutering your pet, it will interfer with your personal sex life, DON'T GET A PET!!! You do not understand that family pets are happier and healthier and insure no unwanted pets, by being neutered.
- If you don't think having a pet is a long time, full time commitment, DON'T get a pet, you are not ready.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! Don't get any pet unless YOU want and love animals and are ready to take the responcibility of being a pet owner. If you are serious about getting a pet, consider a rescue from a great place like this.
Or contact your local Humane or rescue.

PLEASE!!
