Songwriter Rich Mullins wrote the song "Awesome God" as a contemporary Christian pop song, the full-length version can be heard on his album "Winds of Heaven, Stuff of Earth".  The full-length version lyrics are as follows:

The chorus of this powerful song was then popularized in churches throughout the US as a song of praise and declaration of the mightiness of God.

Rich Mullins went home to be with the Lord in September of 1997 following an automotive accident.  While he and his music will be sorely missed in the contemporary Christian music world, we rejoice that Rich is now making music for a much better audience.
