Rising From The Dead
The impulse to strike is so imbedded in the nervous system
of rattlers that it may remain active for some time after
the snake is apparently dead. This includes the injection
of venom. Simply touching a "dead" rattler may trigger the
reaction, so be very wary about approaching or handling a
road kill or any other recently deceased rattlesnake.
