Quakers are prone to developing fatty liver disease so you should limit the fat in their diet. Seeds are high in fat, so a good pellet diet supplemented with healthy people food is best. If we had known this years ago when we got Murphy, I feel he would probably still be with us today.
Now I eat just about anything. One of the first things I learned to say was "Get a bite?", and I say it whenever I see anybody eating anything. And guess what....IT WORKS!! Mom and Dad always share when I ask for a bite!! hehehehehe..I've got them trained really good!
This is me and my brother Raunchy. Raunchy came to live with us when he was 6 months old. He didn't trust Mom and Dad much but he really loved me. Mom named him after a movie she saw called "Raun", which was about a little autistic boy whose Mommy and Daddy worked with him and helped him to get all better. Raunchy sometimes acted autistic, but was getting lots better. I taught him that Mom and Dad were really nice and wouldn't hurt us. I also taught him his first word. I taught him to say "Woody" (thats my brother the cockatiels name). Raunchy kinda talked baby talk tho so instead of Woody he said "OOOEY". It was cute! He was my very special pal. One day Mom and Dad were crying. They told me Raunchy had died. I miss my brother, but I know he's flying and playing on Rainbow Bridge and someday I will see him again. I can say about 20 words, but it's easier for Misty my African Grey sister to talk so I let her speak for both of us sometimes. And guess what else...huh? huh?...you give up?...ok...I'll tell you. I taught Misty to speak Quaker! I'm soooooo proud of myself. I'm a VERY good teacher. I taught her so well that she speaks Quaker better than I do...if you can believe that! And she does it way louder than I can. I heard how bad it sounded and I quit doing it. Boy, I sure am getting hungry...I think I hear Mom in the kitchen. I sure am glad you stopped in to see me. Come back again ok? Gotta go try to get Mom's attention...MOM!!!! MOM!!!!GET A BITE?? MOM!!!
"I like to play peek a boo! Next time you come maybe we can play."

Quakers are illegal in several states, and there have been cases where people's pets have been confiscated and destroyed. Help to change these ridiculous laws.
