• My fellow Ridiculistians.... As you can see, assuming you've visited before, things have changed....the world moves on and we go along for the ride. I haven't updated the site in so long now, due to changes in the Ridic community, changes in my personal life and plain old apathy brought on by those things.

  As recently as a week ago I was prepared to dump the whole works due to my own dumb angst... then I began thinking about all the good things that have happened to me, and I believe for many of you, because I started this page 7 months ago.... in fact none of the negative stuff had anything to do with this web-site or the game itself- at least for me...things are all tied together in my monkey-like mind, however, and I put the activities surrounding personalities and jealousies and contentions all in the same box. This was a mistake, as was stopping my work with the web-site... I accept some of the blame, therefore, for allowing the community to become so fractured.

  The question then, is what next? My own answer, as it was before I lost my focus, is to try and give the WHOLE community a place to gather, a common reference point besides the game itself. I can only hope that we (I) can again recapture the spirit that moved us (me) then. I am amazed to discover, in thinking about all this this week, that I have been playing Ridic a year this month; The time compression endemic to online life makes this seem half a life-time... I wish, with your help, to make the next half-life better. The Ridiculist Hall of Fame, the Survey, Player of the Week, Tournament News & Gossip, etc has reopened (today is 26 August 1998).   I have no idea what will follow from this... total apathy? A resurrection of Virtual Djibouti?? I can dream (and I will). I ask your support once again in this endeavour- I also thank all of those who have been along for the ride thus far ( even the ones who no longer speak to me, LOL).
