The first thing one must do is 
Or you can read first..
If you are new to downloading, please make a new folder,
to do this;
(1)Go to My Computer
(2)Click on File
(3)Click on Open
(4)Click on New
(5)Click on Folder-This will create a new folder at the bottom of your (C:)
Folder.
(6) Highlight the "New Folder" and Name it ICQ..
Use your Tab button to navigate through the folders
When you click on ICQ Download you will see a screen.
(1)You will be asked to select Your Operating System
(2)Click download
(3)You are then given information about the Product, (ICQ)
(4)Select the browser you use
(I use two browsers, so I choose General Version)
(5)You then will be taken to a Screen that shows you,
Download Sites by States, Pick the State where you live
(If you live in the USA, Just Click See download Sites)
(If not, Click the little arrow and select where you are from.
(Then, Click Download Sites Only if not in USA)
(6)Otherwise Just Click on Your STATE and Download..
Here is where the Save to File Box comes up, this is when you
Click on Save and it will ask you to where.
(7)Save it to your ICQ-info Folder
(7)If Your Country is not listed! Please Go Here..

Click on your Country, wait for it to load, at the bottom,
of the screen is a Search button, Just type..ICQ and
there you have it! Windows 95 or 3.1 Version...
Now if your Ready, here we have another button for you to use!
Ready to Install ICQ????
Remember to Stay Connected to the Internet!
After Downloading is Complete, Go to Your ICQ-Info Folder
[1]Double Click ICQ Setup!
[2]Click I Agree-(License Agreement)
[3]Click Next-(Welcome)
[4]Click Next-(This is the Destination Directory-C:\-Your hard drive)
[5]Click Next-(Do you want ICQ, in your Startup?
[5a.]When you agree, ICQ try's to automatically connect you when you boot up.
[6]Click Next-(Puts Folder in Your Program List)
[7]Then it Installs itself..
[8]Installation Complete!
More Questions to Answer!!! But, You're Almost Finished....
Screens will pop up now.
Password Verification.
note:Use a Password you are not likely to forget.
ie: Mothers maiden name, year you were born.
Click Save Password
Click OK
If New and this is the first time you have Downloaded ICQ
Then the ICQ Registration Wizard will pop up..
Click the LAN or Modem user, which ever one applies
ICQ-continues with: [1] E-Mail
[2]Nickname
[3]First Name
[4]Last Name
You don't have to fill this out, This shows people your Identify!
Other Questions..
[1] City, [4] Age [7]Homepage
[2] State [5] Telephone [8] About Yourself
[3] Country [6] Gender
You will then get another Screen for a Survey..
You may or may not wish to fill this out.
Once again, you are asked for a password. (Use one easy to remember.
Next comes your Privacy Level, You choose how you want it set.
Click Next
You are told to remember Your Password
Click OK
You will see the ICQ Registration Continue..
You will be assigned a number and it appears on the Screen
WRITE THE NUMBER DOWN FOR YOUR USE
Click Next
Congratulations Info appears and then you CLICK NEXT!!!
Then Registration Complete!! YOUR FINISHED!!!!
A small screen will appear in the upper right hand corner of your computer,
with a Flashing Exclamation Point
Click on it! It is your First Incoming Message!!!
The Only Step Left is to Start Contacting the People You Want To Talk To!
