Introduction
This contains an index of the book "Roberts families" by J. Montgomery Seaver,
PA, 1929 along with many other Robertses submitted by Internauts and
Rooters. I will include the birth, marriage, and death dates of
individuals. Dates will be given if available. The reference (could be
my book, could be someone else's info)
page number or section/family number appears at the end of each entry. A
family number in the Seaver book looks like: A110 or A110-1, which means the son of A110.
Multiple dates in the marriage field indicate multiple marriages.
Mutiple dates in the "Lived" field indicate documented dates of living.
Most of the entries where died ("d.") says "after nnnn" or is blank
means the person probably had not died at the writing of this book in
1929. If the place column is filled in, that is an unconfirmed place
where they were born or lived. I assumed it is the same place as the
parents were born.
Entry format
The format of each entry is:
Lastname, Firstname, prefix (b. birth date, birth place, m. marriage
date, marriage place, spouse name, d. death date, death place)
reference (like your email address).
Explanation of fields:
- "lastname" is the person's last name
- "firstname" is the person's first name. This could be followed by middle names (if any) then any previous married names.
- "prefix" are prefixes of honor, such as "Rev" for reverand, "Hon" if the person was a judge, "Sir" if they were knighted, etc.
- The items in parentheses are self explanatory.
- "reference" is the page of the "Roberts family" book, the family
number in the book, the submitter's website or email address, or a book
name (like "PA marr" which means Pennsylvania marriages).
"in Rev war" - this name came from a list of Revolutionary war
participants. No other data is associated with these names except the
state they came from. Please don't ask me for more info on people in the Rev.
war, I don't have it.
"Details" - means I have some details about the persons professional or personal life.
Submitting your names
If you would like to submit names to this database:
- Make sure the names are not yet in the database. If your name is in
the database but is missing info which you have, send it on in!
- Submit them in the above format with each line preceded by "<LI>" which
is an HTML tag for a "list item". Don't type in the quotes.
- Example:
<li>Roberts, James (b. Oct 11, 1919, Somewhere, MD, m. Nov 11, 1930,
Cactus, AZ, Nancy Smith, d. Nov 1, 1980, Smalltown, CT)
< a href="mailto:your_email_address" > your_email_address < /a >
I typed this all in by hand over many tedious hours. I hope someone
finds this helpful.
